On behalf of the organizing committee, Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile and Transportation Research Board, we are pleased to invite you to the 8th International Conference on Managing Pavement Assets. The conference will be hosted on November 15-19, 2011 in the city of Santiago, Chile.
The main scope of the conference is to discuss and learn the practical and technical knowledge developed in the last few years in managing pavement assets. To reach this objective, the conference provides an opportunity to share experiences of researchers, academics and professionals from public and private organizations, who are interested in themes related to managing pavement assets.
The central theme of the conference will be "Fulfilling the Social, Economic and Environmental Responsibilities for Sustainable, Well Managed, Better Roads”. During the four days of the conference, presentations, lectures, discussion panels, tutorials and workshops regarding sustainable design, construction and operation of pavement assets, private and public partnership projects (PPP), management practices and applications, among others, will be presented by experienced professionals.
This is the first time that this Conference is carried out in Latin America, for which our challenge as Organizing Committee is very stimulant and motivating. The previous versions were carried out in Canada, United States, South Africa and Australia, and they were transformed into a great know-how exchange platform and experiences between different currents of investigation and professional development in the pavement asset management area.
We encourage you to join the conference. It will be an excellent occasion to share innovative ideas with your colleagues around the world and to learn more about the local experience in managing pavement assets. And why not, a great opportunity to explore Chile and South America, and to become enchanted by the most diverse sightseeing you could imagine: from exhilarating deserts, cold rainforests, and impressive glaciers. |
